Inspiring Insights at ATaC's Latest Member Webinar
ATaC member-only webinar took place on 25th March 2025, it was packed with insights into asbestos management and policy. The session featured presentations from key industry experts, covering many important topics.
Robert Southall, the ATaC Manager, began the webinar with an update on the organisation, including an overview of the RSPH Qualifications. Also included are highlights from the HSE Asbestos Summit and updates from the ATaC Management Committees.
John Richards from Asbestos Information CIC then delivered a comprehensive session with a detailed review of the current Asbestos Information Certificate. His presentation examined the 2023/24 Annual Data Research Report and explored how certificate data could potentially shape a future National Asbestos Strategy.
Nick Garland from Assure 360 highlighted exciting collaborative work with ARCA, introducing personal air monitoring approaches. He demonstrated innovative methods for analysts to collect meaningful data that could significantly improve safety protocols in asbestos management.
Martin Saunders from HSE provided insights into the effectiveness of the 4-Stage Clearance process following licensed asbestos removal. Lyndsey Baldwin followed with HSE policy updates, addressing several key areas of interest:
Lyndsey Baldwin delivered shared HSE policy updates, discussing the status of DWP committee recommendations on mandatory surveyor accreditation. She also provided clarifications on NNLW and the independence of clearance analysts, while exploring the potential implications of European Control limit changes for the UK.
