Competency is vital for individuals working in the asbestos industry, therefore ATaC offers qualifications for asbestos surveyors and asbestos analysts to assist in the continual pursuit of excellent standards.
The Asbestos Testing and Consultancy Association supports surveyors and analysts by offering qualifications to verify their knowledge and competence in their particular role.

This RSPH asbestos surveying qualification has been approved by the qualifications regulator Ofqual. It has been designed to provide the theory and practical knowledge, and the skills required for surveying buildings for asbestos, and has been developed around HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide. It has been designed to provide the theory and practical knowledge and skills required for use of microscopes, fibre counting, air sampling and 4-stage clearance procedures - developed around HSG248 Asbestos: The Analysts Guide. This Ofqual regulated RSPH qualification has been designed to support dutyholders, so they understand their duties and responsibilities for managing asbestos in buildings as defined in Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
