ATAC’s members can help with asbestos surveys, asbestos testing, asbestos management, asbestos remediation and asbestos removal.

The association has been in operation for over 20 years, representing asbestos testing and consultancy specialists throughout the UK and overseas.

ATAC’s members offer independent impartial advice on all aspects of asbestos management and remediation and also asbestos removal

All member companies are vetted prior to membership to ensure they have the appropriate UKAS accreditation for the services offered and professional indemnity insurance commensurate with the level of trading undertaken by the member company.

ATAC's members are at the forefront of the industry because of the unique position that ATAC holds within the industry. ATAC are involved with various groups and committees on behalf of its members, therefore its members are aware of industry changes ahead of others who are not so involved.

Asbestos Industry Update Seminars

Next seminar is at Glasgow on 17th May

ATaC Seminars 2012

This year ATAC and ARCA will be running regional seminars providing a general update to changes that have taken place during the last twelve months and also covering various other points.

The seminars will cover various points and subjects such as CAR 2012, Asbestos in Soils, Prosecutions and Preventative Measures, Asbestos in Schools as well as presentations from UKAS and HSE covering various issues.

The seminars are planned as follows:

Glasgow – Thursday 17th May
Manchester – Thursday 31st May
Birmingham – Wednesday 13th June
London – Wednesday 20th June

Increased membership provides additional seat at Governing Council

The past twelve months have been particularly productive for ATAC and the profile has increased in line with the hard work and effort put in. We continue to try to do the best for our members through representation on committees, lobbying on behalf of the members and also working on items that the membership feel strongly about such as the new qualifications. Many thanks to the Management Committee members who all put in a lot of time and effort on behalf of ATAC, also thank you to the ATAC Manager Ian Stone who also works extremely hard on behalf of the membership.

New ATaC Asbestos Analysts Training Course Launched

ATaC have developed a new industry qualification in conjunction with the Royal Society for Public Health.

This two day course is aimed at analysts with at least two years experience who are looking to move forward to undertake Project Management of asbestos removal and remediation projects for clients.

The course provides the thoery, practical knowledge, and skills required for Asbestos Project Management, which includes the understanding contracts, contractor selection, review of method statements, client liaison, and the management and inspection of asbestos works.

The course has recently been piloted and has received positive feedback from the analysts who have sat the course and from directors of the companies the analysts work for.
