The Asbestos Testing And Consultancy association has been in operation for 20 years, representing the interests of asbestos testing and consultancy specialists throughout the UK and overseas.

All member companies are vetted pior to membership to ensure they have the appropriate UKAS accreditation for the services offered and professional indemnity insurance commensurate with the level of trading undertaken by the member company.

Asbestos In Schools

There is still a problem with Asbestos Management in Schools as highlighted at the beginning of the year within the report published by ATAC.

The report hit the headlines and received vast amount of press coverage. John O'Sullivan (ATAC Chairman) undertook various television interviews for BBC Breakfast, BBC News and ITV News, John Richards (ATAC management committee member) undertook interviews for Radio 5 Live. There were also over twenty separate news articles within various local and national newspapers including The Telegraph, The Independent, The Daily Mail, The Express and The Daily Mirror.

Everyone involved with the campaign have been pleased at the coverage which has helped raise awareness of the issue and now the Government has set up a committee to address the problem of asbestos in schools.

ATAC members' professional and technical staff is by far the largest single grouping of asbestos survey, testing and consultancy practitioners in the UK. ATAC, through its member companies, is the first port of call for anyone seeking independent impartial advice on all aspects of managing asbestos in buildings.ATAC is the only trade body of its type in the UK. As well as asbestos bulk sampling and asbestos air testing services, many of the ATAC members hold UKAS accreditation for asbestos surveying (ISO17020) and HSE supervisory licences, which allow them to project manage contracts on a clients behalf.

ATaC Training Courses

ATaC, in association with ARCA, provide a wide range of asbestos training courses held at ARCA Training Centres throughout the UK. For full details on all current courses click here..

ATaC training courses can also be arranged directly with companies and held in-house at their premises or a suitable nearby location.

In recent years ATaC has introduced new courses as a direct result of the feedback gained from its members and partnering associations. For example, the Association of Project Safety (APS), British Institute of Facilities Managers (BIFM) and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors ( RICS).
